Comprehensive Annual Financial Report
The Comprehensive Annual Finance Report (CAFR) summarizes audited financial data for the previous fiscal year in a standardized format. It is organized by fund and contains a balance sheet that compares assets with liabilities and fund balance and an operating statement that compares revenues and expenditures.

Popular Annual Financial Report
The Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR) presents an overview of the City’s financial position as well as the City’s long-standing financial practices. This informative report details where revenue dollars are generated and how they are spent in a fiscally responsible manner.

Awards and Achievements
The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has awarded Certificates of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to the City of Columbia for its Comprehensive Annual Financial Reports (CAFR) for the fiscal years ended June 30, 1999 through June 30, 2017. The most recent FY 2017 Certificates of Achievement the 19th consecutive year the City has been recognized by the GFOA.

The Certificate of Achievement is a prestigious award recognizing conformance with the highest standards for preparation of state and local government financial reports.

Beginning for the year ended June 30, 2018 (FY 2018), the City began preparing a Popular Annual Financial Report in addition to the CAFR, a GFOA Best Practice in financial reporting.
